Visual design for the movie ‘Il Compleanno’, produced by Zen Zero films and presented at the 66th Venice Biennale.

The film, starring Alessandro Gassman, Maria de Medeiros, Massimo Poggio and Michela Cescon, is almost entirely shot in Circeo, on the Tyrrhenian Sea.
While watching the movie, I was strongly impressed by a frame showing just the empty beach, and somehow suggesting the drama that was to develop in the prosecution of the film. The contrast between the title (the Birthday) and the empty and quiet image seem to work. This solution was chosen, a new photo was taken for the purpose and used on posters and promotion materials.

Ceccato is a worldwide-known company, producing advanced and innovative washingsystems. To communicate the actual market position, and let the strategic objectives be outspoken, the company asked Develon for a large corporate identity project. I was comissioned to help them design the logo and the graphical basics of the identity.

The screening of the film ‘Polvere’, directed by Ivan Gergolet, is the central event of a night-happening organized by the Amiantomaipiù association. With a theatrical piece by writer Massimo Carlotto, the evening promotes awareness to the social problems caused by Eternit, and the diseases it caused to the people that worked with it.

Born in 2007 Sanmichele11 is a cultural association that promotes architecture exhibitions. After one and a half year, Sanmichele11 decided to produce a brochure to collect all the events of this first period of activity.

The concept for this brochure, was to build a timeline starting from the association birth and passing through all the exhibitions, the events, the lectures that were organized.

Putting at a same level all the architects invited to show their work, all the colleagues, the students and friends, the layout is built on a rectangular grid filled with small pictures, trying (quite utopian I know…) not to forget anyone that supported the SM11 project.

Every page uses one color, the same used for the communication at the time of the event (mostly an exhibition plus a secondary event like a book presentation, a meeting or a guided tour). All the boxes of each page are set in the related color and overprinted to form the design on the cover.

New Landscapes is a series of meetings and a itinerant exhibition on sustainability in the field of architecture. The project, promoted by Giarch and Innovazionesostenibile.it, has been presented in Vicenza, Verona and Venice.

Written by architects Lucia Meli and Giulio Polita, the book analyzes the story of the project for the hospital, opened in 1908.

100 years later the book describes the relationship between the society of the time and mental illness; from the point of view of architectural design, the authors are able to put questions that are still crucial today.

The book, produced in digital printing, is published by Edizioni Italo Svevo (Trieste).
With a really low budget, the project has been possible only due to the great enthusiasm of the two authors that firmly wanted this book to became real. In fact the large area of the hospital, after being the big laboratory of the antipsichiatric movement of the ‘60 and the ‘70, is now being deeply renewed and host offices from the University of Trieste, the local Health Care, etc. in a constant cancellation of his tragical history.

Fairplay is a recently born sport association that promotes activities for children, focusing on the social and playful aspects of physical activities. From snowboard to free-style skiing, and from climbing to water skiing, the enthusiastic Fairplay associates are taking young kids through a lot of sport diciplines.

Glitch is a talented dj/music producer from trieste. This cover was designed for his last album ‘Autoreverse’. We did it toghether (mr.Glitch himself build the 3D model of the typo-tape), and it was fun… but sadly it remained a proposal. Also without my contribution, the album sounds great!
